THE MOST EFFECTIVE TERMITE CONTROL METHODS
Termidor® termiticide/insecticide is a professional termite defense product effective on native subterranean termites, Formosan termites, and drywood termites. It utilizes an advanced nonrepellent, or “undetectable,” liquid technology that termites cannot see, smell, taste, or avoid. Instead, they contact, ingest, and share Termidor, completely unaware that doing so will inevitably kill them.

Active Ingredient
Termidor contains Fipronil which is odorless, tasteless and colorless. It can not be detected by termites. So they are not repelled by and do not avoid the treated area.
Effectiveness
Termidor is effective against subterranean termites, such as Formosan Subterranean termites and Drywood termites.
Control Method
Termidor kills termites when they ingest it or when they come in contact with it. The termites who come in contact with Termidor, carry it back to the colony and infect others.
Treatment Method
It is applied in liquid form around the foundation of your home in a method called trenching. The exterminator may need to drill holes through hard surfaces, such as concrete slabs, to provide maximum protection.
Time Frame
Termidor begins to work immediately and will completely control termite infestations within three months. It also effectively prevents new termite colonies from invading.
Longevity
Termidor bonds to the soil so it is not washed away by rain or irrigation. A Termidor treatment is effective for eight to ten years, although most exterminators recommend reapplication after five years for safety.
Xterm™ Termite Baiting System
For over 60 years the standard subterranean termite control method has been to place a pesticide material (termiticide) into the soil under and around a structure to create a chemical barrier to protect the structure from subterranean termite attack. As long as the pesticide remained effective, the structure would be protected from subterranean termite attack. The chemical barrier method was especially effective with some of the longer lasting termite pesticides such as Chlordane. These long lasting termite pesticides are no longer available and have been banned in most cases. Since the currently available chemical barrier pesticides are very short lived, the concept of using a chemical barrier treatment as a the sole means of controlling subterranean termites has become a thing of the past and no longer recommended by most Universities.The technology to kill termites using baits is now widely available. Instead of injecting chemicals into the soil which will only last a few years and potentially contaminate the environment, termite baits are placed directly into the ground around the outside of a structure. Termite baiting is simple and can also be used as a preventive measure to detect termites before they become a problem. Termite baiting allows termite control in situations where the structure is untreatable with soil termiticides, there is concern about pesticide use and/or in structures where soil treatments have failed.

Termite baiting systems capitalise on the natural behaviour of termites. As social insects, termites share their food in a process known as trophallaxis. This trait allows slow acting toxicants to be transferred through the colony. It is important that the action of the toxicant is slow enough to allow the termites to feed, travel back to their nest, and share before taking effect. The key to this concept is the use of a system that attracts termites to a readily accessible feeding station containing a suitable bait matrix, that is then carried back to the nest. In time, the slow acting toxicant will have reduced the numbers to a level that can no longer maintain the colony, which ultimately falls "sick" and dies.
WHY BAITS?
Conventional termiticide treatments often involve the drilling and pumping of large volumes of chemical into the soil with a variety of associated side effects including disturbance and even property damage. In comparison, termite baiting is an environmentally friendly way of treating termite infestations, using very small amounts of a pest-specific chemical in a non-disruptive low hazard application. Baits are ideal for all situations, even those sensitive to insecticide use.
HOW DOES XTERM TERMITE BAITING SYSTEM WORK?
The Xterm™ Termite Baiting System includes both Above Ground and In Ground components that utilise cartridges containing a bait matrix specially designed to maximise termite acceptance. Xterm™ bait cartridges contain the latest insect growth regulator which provides fast eradication of subterranean termite infestations. It is easy to handle and install, works without having to drill and is environmentally friendly. The bait attracts termites to the bait stations to feed even when there is a plentiful supply of alternative foodstuff in the area. The slow acting insect growth regulator within Xterm™ is then taken back to the nest and spread throughout the colony before taking effect. This allows the bait to reach even the Queen and the King. In other words, Xterm™ targets to the heart of the colony. Xterm™ offers a professional looking and cleaner, non-messy formulation that is easy to install, service and monitor.
Step 1
Your property will be inspected for sign of termite by GVM ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANCY SERVICES' in-house pest specialist.
Step 2
In-Ground (IG) monitoring stations will be installed around your property.
Step 3
A pest specialist will check the stations regularly for termite activities.
Step 4
When termite are found in a station in-ground termite bait will be installed inside the active IG stations.
Step 5
The captured termites will feed on the bait, tunnel out and share the food source with its nest mates. The colony will start to decline and eventually be eliminated.
Step 6
After the colony has been eliminated, new monitoring devices will be installed in the monitoring station. The pest specialist will continue to inspect the monitoring stations for new termite colonies that might invade your property.
Step 1
The Pest Specialist will determine the active termite spot as live termite will be seen there.
Step 2
When active termites are found, the pest specialist will install Above Ground (AG) baiting station on the active termite spots.
Step 3
The AG contains an active ingredient which inhibits termites' moulting process (skin replacement). The matrix is odorless and do not repel termites from continuous feeding on the bait.
Step 4
The AG bait station is closed and sealed. The pest specialist will inspect the station and its surrounding areas consistently every 2-3 weeks.
Step 5
The pest specialist will inspect the consumption level of the bait. Upon 60% of consumption, additional bait cartridge will be installed to ensure sufficient food source for the active termites.
Step 6
The termite will feed on the bait which will cause a total colony elimination through its feeding behavior. Upon total colony elimination, the AG bait stations will be dismantled.
